Townsville West State School is the second eldest school in Townsville, located at the base of Castle Hill, en route into the city. We are near the busy intersection of Ingham Road and Sturt Street, West End. We currently have about 155 students from prep year to year 7.
We provide differentiated learning for our unique student population, as our school community consists of families from right across Townsville; some come from residential areas close to the school, others have parents who work in or near the city and others travel across suburbs to attend the school due to its values, philosophy and size. We have a larger than average percentage of students with disabilities within the school and we pride ourselves in the quality and support of our special education program which utilises our extensive communication technologies. Over a quarter of our student population come from Indigenous families.
With the support of our parents and surrounding community, we at Townsville West State School are committed to providing a proactive learning environment for each and every student at our school.
